To strengthen its hold amongst the masses of Haryana, Bhartiya Janta Party's (BJP) national president, Amit Shah visited Haryana's political powerhouse, the Jind area, in a state level biker's rally last week. This mega rally is seen as an opening trumpet for 2019 Lok Sabha and State Assembly elections .
"Bhartiya Janta Party has given a corruption-free governance in the centre as well in Haryana state and after independence first time the farmers and poor are feeling that this is their own government", claimed Shah. Overwhelmed by the presence of a large number of people in the rally, Shah congratulated the party's state head Subhash Barala and the state CM Manohar Lal Khattar and termed the rally as a 'Kumbh'.
Shah said that after BJP's four years tenure, even the opposition cannot allege them of corruption charges. Speaking in the rally, Shah claimed that to resolve the long pending issue of pension, they have extended One Rank-One Pension (OROP) to the Military personnel .
He praised Haryana by calling it the land of warriors and martyrs. BJP president said , "Haryana is the land of warriors, farmers, martyrs and youth."
Praising the state Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for completion of his successful tenure of four years , Amit Shah said, "This is the state, where a former CM has gone to jail, but there are no corruption charges against the present CM. Manohar Lal Khattar has given a no-caste discrimination government in the state." Shah claimed that in the 13th finance commission , Haryana was getting only Rs. 14000 crore, but the Modi government has extended the help of Rs.42000 crore to the state.
Stressing on his slogan of 'Haryana Ek- Haryanavi –Ek ', Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar said , "We have eliminated regionalism in developmental works."
Speaking at the rally, the union steel minister, Birender Singh said that the BJP has gained the status of Pan-India Party and it has given new ray of hope to the youth of the country in terms of employment.
The opposition parties staged protest on the visit of Amit Shah. On Jind-Panipat Road near Nara village, Indian National Lok Dal (INLD ) workers raised black flags to express their protest against the biker's rally. Black Balloons flew in Jind near the rally to show the protest. In Bahadurgarh also, the INLD supporters showed black flags to the convoy of BJP MLA Naresh Kaushik to express their resentment against non-completion of SYL canal, a lifeline of Haryana, by the BJP.
While protesting against Amit Shah's 'Hunkar Rally', hundreds of Indian National Congress workers and leaders including HPCC president Ashok Tanwar were detained by the Haryana Police in the state. Criticizing the step of Khattar's BJP government, Ashok Tanwar the state president of congress said, "You cannot snatch the rights of protest from opposition and suppress the voice of people.
